Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a new or recent graduate Occupational Therapist to join our acute team at a tertiary hospital. We are looking for a therapist who is a great communicator, active team member and is a motivated occupational therapist.
You will be part of the 2 1/2 fixed term rotational programme and will work across both Wellington and Kenepuru hospitals. The different clinical areas include orthopaedic, trauma, neurosurgery, stroke, medical, surgery inpatient rehabilitation and community rehabilitation. You will enter a sound mentoring programme with clear clinical competencies to guide and maximise your clinical development.
You will be well supported by a friendly, fun and enthusiastic team, with leadership from dedicated Team Leaders. We offer on-going professional development and formal supervision.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Our team is currently made up of 13 occupational therapists, with 6 team members in the rotational group. We work in the acute setting, assessing and treating patients to contribute to successful discharges and acute hospital flow. We are part of a wider ORA team that has 53 occupational therapists working across community, outpatients and rehabilitation settings.
Moū - About you
- Excellent time management skills
- Registration and current APC with Occupational Therapy Board NZ
- A clear understanding of the health needs of our Māori and Pacific Island communities
- Demonstrates ability to build rapport with patient and whānau from all backgrounds
- NZ drivers licence is preferable
- Assessment, management and intervention of occupational performance issues
- Weekend cover roster (approx. once every 9 weeks for up to 4 hours)E pā ana ki a tatou - About us
