Our proud NZ family owned client, specialising in health supplement manufacturing, now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical plant engineer to join their team, based in the beautiful Waikato city of Hamilton.

Reporting to the Engineering and Facility Manager, this role will see you responsible for overseeing, managing and maintaining mechanical operation of plant machinery and equipment, collaborating with the production team whilst supporting a continuous improvement culture.

**About the role**

We are seeking a highly motivated hands on practical hardworking proactive individual who has good manufacturing practices and experience, works well under pressure who will be responsible for:

- Preventative and daily maintenance activities
- Managing the functioning, maintenance, optimisation and health & safety procedures of plant equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and machinery
- Providing technical guidance and support
- Cross-functional team collaboration
- Leading and mentoring other technicians and operators
- Supporting continuous improvement culture

**A bit about you**
- Mechanical Engineering trade qualification
- 5 years experience working within the pharmaceutical/nutraceutical manufacturing/production space
- Hands-on fault finding/diagnostic skills
- A strong focus on maintenance
- Proven welding ability and limited electrical experience advantageous
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge and implementation of Workplace Health and Safety practices
