A Courts Registry Officer is critical to the successful daily operation of the district court and makes a huge positive difference in the lives of whanau in our communities in the following exciting ways and not limited to:

- Facilitating the smooth delivery of court hearings through Court Taking, which includes announcing the Judges entry into court (in English and Te Reo Māori), calling cases and general administration of the court
- Ensure court participants matters progress in a timely manner through the court process by effective Case Management

This position is set within our Criminal jurisdiction, however you will also be trained and asked to step in within other jurisdictions at the Court.
A full, clean drivers license is required as you may have to travel between Courts in the region.

He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
Wea re looking for someone with experience in customer service, both in front line and written capacities. With these strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to confidently address large groups of people, as well as act with tact and discretion. We are looking for someone who has a high level of resilience, flexibility within the workplace and is self-driven.
The ability to speak a second language may also be of advantage.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Be highly organised and able to switch between priorities quickly
- Have strong standard of written and oral communication
- Have a strong level of ITC literacy
- Have an understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Maori
