The Market Policy team at the Electricity Authority develops policy, creates regulation, and engages with the electricity sector. The Authority's primary objective is to promote competition, reliability and efficiency in the electricity sector for the long term benefit of consumers; we're focussed on this, and on helping create the conditions for Aotearoa to tackle climate change. About the role
The Electricity Authority is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. We are the kaitiaki of electricity. Our purpose is to enhance New Zealander's lives, prosperity & environment through electricity.
We are looking for two experienced policy professionals to take the next step in their career. You will be joining a well-established team, and be a key part of the Market Policy function in the Authority.
As a seasoned policy professional, the focus of your role will be to help create innovative, consumer-focused policy solutions to ensure Aotearoa's electricity sector works the best for consumers and our nation. You will work on a variety of interesting projects, and engage directly with sector participants and senior leadership at the Authority.

Are you someone with the following?
- A relevant qualification and policy experience with technical policy skills
- A can-do attitude and high level of initiative, sound judgement and discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to form and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders

A familiarity with electricity markets is desirable, but not essential. This, along with relevant experience will help you comfortably engage the wider industry, and provide technical and policy advice to our Chief Executive and the Board.
