Senior Bartender

This well-known Auckland function centre is continuing to grow and are seeking an energetic, customer focused Bar Manager to join their team.

About the Wedding and Function Venue

They are a family owned and operated wedding and events venue located in Kumeu, Aucklands wine country. They are one of Aucklands premium venues with weddings and events running all year round, with the ability to hold weddings and events between 20 and 300 people. They hold a variety of events with a large focus on creating magical memories for our couples, and pride themselves on providing exceptional service, great food and ensure that every day is as special to them as it is to the couples and clients.

About the Role

The role is for a senior bartender position who is experienced in hospitality, have the skills in creating cocktails, knowledgeable with alcohol and can share ideas for the venues continuous growth making a great bar experience for their functions/wedding guests.

Someone who has positive energy and strives to deliver an exceptional customer experience every time. They are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and is great with customer service.

The role includes evenings on weekdays and weekends.

You will be working together with their Events Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

- Bar duties and front of house as required
- Responsible for full bar task
- Creates special cocktails for different type of events
- Beverage service, serving wines, beers, cocktails, mocktails, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks
- Glass washing and polishing of glasses, cutlery and plates
- End of night venue pack down ready for the next day function which heavy lifting & cleaning
- In charge of stocktakes and ordering
- Welcoming and looking after wedding guests to our venue

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent in customer service, outgoing and confident. Has experience working in a fast-paced environment with an upbeat friendly attitude.
- Trained as a senior bartender, has hospitality and customer service for minimum of 5 years
- Have skills in creating and serving cocktails for minimum of 5 years including experience in flare cocktail making
- Can create original cocktails for special events: e.g. Valentines day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Christmas, Summer and Winter cocktail events.
- Upselling cocktails to weddings, mocktails to school balls
- Exploring idea of creating gin and whiskey station promotion for all types of events
- Promoting, serving, and selling alcohol and other beverages responsibly.
- Involvement on social media
- Takes pride in standard of appearance and service etiquette.
- Punctual, reliable, and proactive
- A great team player, dedicated to work in a team as well as unsupervised.
- Has a strong work ethic, hardworking and enjoys being busy

You are required to be:

- Driving and have your own transport on not having sufficient public transport to the function centre
- Willing to work night shifts on weekends and weekdays, with changing roster
- Aware of health and safety procedures and maintains a safe working environment
- Physically fit as job involves standing for hours, lifting and cleaning
- Either has or is willing to take on training for their LCQ Qualification and Duty Managers certificate

What is offered:

- Hours: Minimum of 30hrs a week
- Pay: Will change depending on experience between $29 -32 per hour
- Free staff parking
- Meals are provided while working during an event.
