Upholsterer

SLUMBERZONE NEW ZEALAND LIMITED, Christchurch

This is a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours gauranteed per week.
- Preparing and cutting materials such as fabrics, foam, padding, and springs for use in bedding and mattress upholstery.
- Making and repairing wooden frames for beds, sofas and other products we make
- Measuring, cutting, sewing, and attaching fabric, leather, or synthetic coverings to mattresses and bases.
- Fitting and securing springs, padding, webbing, and covering materials to bed frames and mattress structures.
- Operating industrial machinery and hand tools to assemble and upholster bedding products.
- Inspecting and repairing upholstery on returned or defective mattresses and bases.
- Following specifications, patterns, and templates to ensure consistency in production.
- Maintaining a clean and safe factory environment while adhering to company health & safety policies.
- Collaborating with the production team to meet daily manufacturing targets.

REQUIREMENTS
- At least **two years of relevant work experience** in a factory or similar production environment.
- New Zealand Experience in assisting or making of beds and furniture will be preferred.
- Practical knowledge of upholstery techniques, fabric handling, and assembly processes.
- Ability to use industrial sewing machines, cutting equipment, and upholstery tools.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Physically fit and able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork and time management skills.
