Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

The secret to our success is our people. While we are ordinary people, we are not all the same. We welcome diversity, in all its forms, in fact we consider it a strength. Join us and work at the heart of national security to protect New Zealand and New Zealanders.

Are you
- Inspired about protecting Aotearoa?

- Motivated by solving challenging problems?

About NCSC
It's an exciting time to join us The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the heart of New Zealand's cyber defence capabilities and every day we're helping protect Aotearoa New Zealand, and its interests.

One of the NCSC's most unique functions is to provide high grade encryption and cryptographic services to protect Aotearoa New Zealand's most sensitive communications. This work is specialised and highly technical, and plays a critical role in New Zealand's national security system.

About the role
This Technical Director role sets the overall long-term direction and deliverables for GCSB's Cryptographic Product Management Infrastructure (CPMI) - the infrastructure that supports the production of high assurance cryptographic products for Aotearoa New Zealand.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Ensuring the CPMI meets the business needs of the unit, wider community, and remains sustainable
- Designing and delivering the strategy and programme for our cryptographic capabilities, which involves working with various functional teams, domestic and international
- Manage the complex interactions of
- Finance;
- Third-party procurement;
- Partner programmes (development and upgrade cycles); and
- End-users

A core component of the role relates to cryptographic solutions architecture. You are also expected to evaluate and align architectural designs across the cryptographic function, noting this extends beyond the GCSB to international partners.

About you
You will be an experienced technical leader with excellent relationship skills and enjoy strategy and systems thinking, programme management and relationship building. You will be working with a team filled with unique capabilities and amazing people with specialised cryptographic skills.
