The Opportunity

Key responsibilities include directing the monthly and quarterly valuation and capital processes, conducting detailed reviews and analyses of results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory returns. The Senior Actuary Manager will oversee all actuarial team activities, engage with stakeholders to implement efficient methodologies, and contribute to broader financial and actuarial outcomes. Additionally, this role supports the integration of financial and actuarial systems, ensuring clear communication of complex matters to senior non-actuarial audiences and influencing decision-making at all levels.

Your Story- Communicates complex matters clearly and simply including to a senior non-actuarial audience/Leadership and influences at all levels- Drives organisational outcomes through deep expertise or cross-functional leadership- Excellent understanding of the interactions between actuarial and accounting principles / policies and their impact on valuation outcomes, analysis of results, systems and process design, data requirements and data flow, at a company level.- Able to prioritise the team’s time to deliver to required deadlines.- Ability to direct and manage a team and be flexible as priorities change, to deliver the best outcomes for our customers.- Knowledge of best practice in financial management.

Ideal Experience- Production of actuarial results on multiple bases (IFRS-17 / US GAAP), including end-to-end Actuarial processes.- Excellent knowledge of the NZ Interim Solvency Standard- Ability to work and manage your time in a fast-paced environment - changing focus and / or your strategy for delivery as required.- Skilled in actuarial or finance system change
