The Hospital Dental Service
provides specialist dental care to people in the Canterbury region. It is also
a tertiary referral centre for the
West Coast and Nelson and Marlborough regions. The
Hospital Dental Service provides care in
dental services such as special care dentistry, pedodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics,
oral medicine and maxillofacial prosthetics.
- As a Receptionist/Administrator within the Hospital Dental Service, you will be the face of the department. You will need have exceptional
customer service skills, be able to work well in a team, as well as
independently, and excellent ability to multitask.
To be
successful in this role you will have well developed administration
skills, be organised and be an excellent communicator.

and greeting patients
- Answering
phone calls and assisting with enquiries
- Processing
- Booking
emergency appointments
- General
administrative tasks
- Observe
all Te Whatu Ora [Health NZ] safe work procedures and instructionsThis
position is permanent part-time working 24 hours per week, currently Monday,
Wednesday and Thursday. Hours vary from 7.45am-4.15pm and 8.45am-5.15pm.

This
**role requires the following**:
**Essential**:
- Excellent customer service skills ' people focused
- Technically savvy ' quick at picking up new
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem
solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to
detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- A team player
- Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite
of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent keyboard skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates perceptiveness and a proactive approach in an administrator role. Desired:
- Broad administrative experience in a health related
field
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with the public hospital system (including
the patient management system)
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
