We are looking for an experienced baker who is a reliable all-rounder who has a great skillset in bread and working on the sweet section at times too. This is an excellent opportunity to come and work at an outstanding supermarket in an industry with job security and stability.

**The days for this position are**:
Sunday and Monday 5am-2:30pm

Tuesday to Thursday 7am-4:30pm

New World Durham Street is Christchurch’s next-level supermarket experience, known our Fresh Foods Courtyard which displays the amazing range of fresh products we create here in store. We are proudly locally owned and operated with a fantastic team environment throughout the store. This role offers a great store culture, full training, and a commitment to ongoing development and learning.

**Your day-to-day**:

- Following recipes to produce high-quality, delicious products
- Producing our instore made doughs on the dough bench
- Being able to work on the sweet section occasionally to produce cakes, slices and biscuits (this may include donut making with full training provided)
- Working quickly and efficiently while managing your own workload
- Being part of a team to achieve daily tasks and communicating with others to achieve goals within the department
- Having excellent food safety and health and safety processes
- Using initiative to prioritise tasks and plan your day
- Sharing new ideas for products or processes

**What we need from you**:

- Experience working in a Bakery or Bakery environment
- A passion for baking and producing high-quality products
- A good understanding of the baking industry
- Commitment to the work, meeting store and company objectives
- Adhering to our instore food safety program (training provided)
- Flexibility to occasionally work extra shifts or over your core hours
- Sharing creativity and new ideas for products or processes
- Good physical fitness for lifting and operating equipment
- Great presentation skills and attention to detail
- Availability over the Easter, Christmas and the New Year periods are a must
