New Zealand Wool Services International Limited (NZWSI) was established in 1991 and is primarily a wool marketing and export business and part of the Lempriere group of companies. NZWSI has two trading divisions being Wool Services International (WSI) and J S Brooksbank (JSB).

An opportunity has arisen to be part of the finance team at NZWSI as an Assistant Accountant.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Liaise with the Wool Scours and process all scourments (batches ) to finalisation of both the WSI and JSB divisions.
- Complete Order finalisations for both the WSI and JSB divisions
- Manage the general ledger of the JSB division including journal processing
- Manage the accounts payable function of the JSB division, including entering supplier invoices and preparing batch payments
- Manage the accounts receivable function of the JSB division including liaising with customers about receipts and overdue payments
- Manage the daily banking and cash receipt process and complete bank account reconciliations of all deposit accounts of the JSB division
- Complete the GST Return for the JSB division on a monthly basis
- Assist the Accountant and external auditors with the annual audit process
- Assist the Accountant with the month end reporting process and produce monthly Profit & Loss & Balance Sheet reports for the JSB Division

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Minimum three years recent experience in an assistant accountant / intermediate accountant role
- Demonstrated working knowledge of reconciliations, accruals, debtors, creditors and financial reporting
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A solid understanding of end-to-end accounting processes
