Are you ready for a new role with more opportunities, more challenges, more scope to learn, lead and grow? In this position you will be integral to the development and delivery of a high level, comprehensive and professional clinical pharmacy service to a variety of General Medicine and Medical Speciality wards in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.

Te Toka Tumai is an innovative, professionally stimulating work environment where you’ll enjoy a real breadth and balance, with various specialities including dermatology, rheumatology, infectious diseases, respiratory, neurology, stroke and older peoples’ health which are among the most comprehensive in all of New Zealand; opportunities abound. You will work alongside clinical leaders to help to drive and influence strategies to best optimise the clinical pharmacy service.

Not only will you mentor and coach rotational pharmacists in the service, you’ll also support teaching at the University of Auckland. We’re sure you’ll also relish the chance to get involved in the development of protocols, prescriptions and guidelines, and education and training of pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team in order to facilitate good prescribing practice.

Our Pharmacy department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 100 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies and our flagship inpatient service. We serve over 1200 inpatient beds. Our guiding principle is to put the patient first in everything we do. Our award winning and growing clinical pharmacy service has over 40 pharmacists working across both secondary and tertiary level services.

We have a robust service strategy which ensures that our staff are continuingly driving to work at the top of their scope and pushing the boundaries of clinical pharmacy practice. We are committed to do and be our best, to value and support all staff, to work together with trust respect and honesty, and display commitment and accountability to provide a high quality service to our patients.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. The successful applicant should have the ability to be flexible, work well in a team and live the values of Te Toka Tumai.
