Full Time Permanent Position with minimum 30 hours weekly.

Pay rate: $29.66 an hour

**Objective of the role**:

- Perform basic maths functions to collect payments and make change
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Scanning goods and ensuring pricing is accurate
- Operate registers, scanners, scales and POS terminals
- Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
- Redeem stamps and coupons
- Memorise product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
- Help to maximize sales through effective and proper procedures for stocking, rotating, and merchandising product, both on the sales floor and in the back rooms and coolers/freezer
- Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
- Delivering outstanding customer service to all customers by listening and responding to customer queries in a confident and professional manner
- Assists Duty Manager with Stock taking, ordering, and inventory management
- Reporting customer complaints to Duty Manager
- Ensuring that trolleys and carrier bags are clean and placed in the right places
- Maintain accurate cash drawer
- Take a tally of the funds in the cash register when required during a shift and produce transaction reports
- Cross-selling products and introducing new/similar products in the store
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and signs
- Handling merchandise returns and exchanges
- Keep the checkout area clean and orderly

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Basic PC knowledge & Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately
- Either 6 months of experience or relevant qualification is preferred.
- Positive, helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately
- Ability to process coupons, refunds, gift cards and checks
- Capable of lifting up to 20 kg, bending, twisting and standing for long periods of time
- Knowledge of register operation, including cash and credit cards
