Traffic Controllers

Onestaff Invercargill is the leading supplier of temporary staff to a number of large Civil Roading Companies in Southland. Our clients are seeking ideally experienced and qualified Traffic Controllers or those who have a passion for the civil industry & keeping our people and our roads safe, to assist with the management of traffic and pedestrian movement across various locations in and around Invercargill and the greater South Island region.

**Job Description**:
You will be working in a team environment under the guidance and instruction of experienced staff, ensuring that fellow employees and the public are kept safe as they move through the work-site.

Tasks include:

- Assisting the Site Supervisor by placing signage and cones at the location of work.
- Communicating with fellow Traffic Controllers, using a hand-held radio to ensure the smooth flow of traffic through the work-site.
- Clearly communicating with the public in a friendly manner.
- Dealing promptly with any breaches, such as vehicles failing to follow your directions.
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time in varying weather conditions.

Job Requirements
- Ideally TTM qualification
- Class 1 Driver's license (Restricted Minimum).
- Constructsafe Card (preferable).
- Excellent verbal communication.
- Ability to resolve any situations of conflict in a calm and professional manner.
- Physical fitness to assist in the loading & unloading of signs & sandbags from vehicles
