Capital Programme Advisor

**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
Reporting to the Manager - Business and Technical Services, and working closely with project managers, engineering delivery, asset management, and zone teams you will lead a small team that provides advice, support and assurance for programme, project and contract delivery across the capital portfolio delivered by the ICM Directorate
This will be achieved through your contribution to, coordination, and maintenance of key elements, including:
- Capital works and budget planning aligned to the WRC Strategies and plans
- Monitoring compliance to WRC Project, Programme, and Portfolio Management processes
- Coaching key staff on capital works planning, project, programme and portfolio management
- Reporting to governance on capital programme performance to time, scope/quality and budgets, and highlighting and escalating key risks and issues
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
Essential
- Project management qualification
- Relevant experience (7+ years) in project and programme management (including change management)
- Sound experience in building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of an organisation
- Ability to guide, coach and educate in project management and project governance
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Resilient and skilled at dealing with change
Desirable
- Programme management qualification
- Asset management experience
- Capital infrastructure experience
- Contracts and financial experience
- Business case and/or benefits management qualification
- Change management qualification
- Previous experience in local government
- Previous experience working in a PMO
- Understanding of portfolio management

Working within the Integrated Catchment Management Directorate, you will be part of a small yet driven team. You will be reporting to the Business and Technical Services Manager and will work closely with a wide group of stakeholders on a day-to-day basis. Some Regional travel will be required.
