Job Title: ICT & Telecommunications Technician
Location: Waikato - Whangamata
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours/week
Maximum Hours: Up to 40 hours/week (as required)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overtime: May be required occasionally; paid at the base hourly rate
Pay Rate: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Tech4NZ Solutions is seeking two skilled ICT & Telecommunications Technician to join our team in Whangamata

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair mobile phones and laptops, delivering high-quality technical support and service outcomes.
- Perform intricate micro soldering, chip/component-level repairs, and advanced board-level diagnostics for ICT and telecommunications devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, including cameras, mobile access, and motion detection setups, ensuring functionality and security.
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot networking systems, including wired/wireless routers, switches, and other connectivity hardware.
- Engage with customers to understand their issues and deliver tailored, effective repair solutions in a professional manner.
- Mentor and support junior staff in technical repair procedures and service delivery standards when required.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, diagnostics, installations, and customer interactions using ticketing and/or CRM systems.
- Continuously monitor and adopt relevant industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance repair processes and service offerings.
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users to ensure transparency and understanding.
- Ensure safety, data confidentiality, and adherence to internal service protocols at all times.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

- Diploma (Level 4 or higher) in IT, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience in place of formal qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in ICT/telecoms or electronics servicing.
- Solid expertise in:

- Micro soldering (component-level and chip-level repairs)
- Networking configuration and diagnostics
- Programming fundamentals and system restoration
- Team leadership and on-the-job mentoring
- Full NZ Driver Licence (or eligible to convert to NZ licence if offshore).

Working Conditions:

- Based at our tech repair shop in Whangamata or Paeroa
- Work involves hands-on technical repairs in a retail/service environment.
- Occasional travel to customer sites within the Bay of Plenty region.
- Overtime may be required and is paid at the base hourly rate.
