**About the role**

As the Head of Data Platforms & Engineering (Senior Manager), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Genesis' data infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to cultivate a talented team and foster innovation, ensuring our data platforms are robust, scalable, and optimized for performance. You'll be at the forefront of our Gen35 strategy, leveraging data to fuel business growth and transformation.

In this role you will;
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of multi-faceted engineers (Data, Analytics, DevOps, AI/ML) to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for efficient data collection, processing, and integration.
- Provide technical oversight to implement best practices in data architecture, engineering and platform management to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data platforms.
- Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across various business units to understand their needs and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Manage external vendor relationships as well as data platforms and tooling budgets including monitoring compute and storage spend and identifying opportunities for optimisation of spend.

**About you**

We are looking for an experienced and visionary leader who is passionate about the value that data-driven organizations can create.
- Extensive experience in data engineering, scaling modern data platforms, and rationalisation of legacy platforms.
- Experience in a transformational leadership role would be hugely advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data strategies and roadmap into actionable solutions that drive business value.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and other relevant languages.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google) and big data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Spark).
- Deep understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts as well as Experience with CI/CD pipelines, MLOps and model deployment, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
