Our Service Delicatessen is a key part of this mission, offering a wide range of fresh, high-quality deli products. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our deli team as a Service Delicatessen Assistant, with the opportunity to develop into the Second in Charge (2IC) role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent customer service, including assisting customers with product selection, special orders, and offering recommendations.
- Prepare, package, and display deli products, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, scales, and ovens.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring products are fresh and available for customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff members.
- Collaborate with the Deli Manager to improve processes and contribute to the smooth running of the department.

Development Role:

- This position is designed for an individual eager to take on more responsibility and grow into a leadership role. As you gain experience and demonstrate leadership qualities, you will be trained to become the Second in Charge (2IC) of the Service Delicatessen.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a delicatessen, food service, or retail environment is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from the Deli Manager.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges, with a desire to advance into a leadership role.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Food Safety and Hygiene certification is an advantage.
