**About the role**:
We are seeking a Kaiako (tutor) to deliver our Certificate of Social Services in Bicultural Social Services Level 4 programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress. Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings

**About you**:
The Kaiako (tutor) will have extensive experience within the Social Services field to deliver our Social Services programme in a bicultural framework. You will provide expert knowledge in bi-cultural knowledge of engaging in relationships and kaupapa, bi-cultural knowledge of purposes, obligation and legacies of social services, and the relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to social services in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Ideally, applicants will have:

- Bachelor degree relevant to social services or equivalent
- NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment.
- Full NZ Driver License
- Clean Police Record;

**Experience**:

- Proven experience in a related role
- Adult teaching experience
- Whilst teaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered._

**Āhuatanga Māori**:

- Engages in cultural activities (e.g. Karakia, Pōwhiri/Whakatau) and has a sound understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga)

**NOTE**: This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
