- Duties
- This lovely family are looking for a support carer/nanny for B5 who was born with a disability.
- B5 was born with a rare chromosome disorder and has a physical disability and is developmentally delayed. He has low muscle tone and is unable to stand or walk unassisted so will require a nanny who is comfortable sitting or lying on the floor for extended periods of the day. He can sit independently. He is generally very social, happy, playful, loves music, stories, investigating toys and other fun objects.
- Due to his low muscle tone he is unable to eat unassisted and will require to be fed with a bottle 3 times during the day along with 2 spoon fed meals. His feeds can be time-consuming due to the time that he takes to eat (Up to 20-30 minutes)
- He does not require naps during the day.
- Although B5 will be almost 5 years old when family wish a new nanny to start he will essentially have the requirements of a 1 year old. Mum and Dad will provide training and no particular experience with disabled children is required. A kind and sensitive person who is patient would be ideal
- Overall however, he has a sunny, happy and outgoing disposition and will enjoy the company of whoever is with him. He loves animals, music, stories, silly play and meeting new people.
- No extra requirements around the household such as other household duties like cleaning and cooking (Other than spot cleaning of bottles and dishes/clothes used for care of B5). We would like the nanny's sole focus to be for B5.
- This would be a sole charge position. B5 has a number of activities and appointments throughout the week such as going to music therapy, playgroups, and time at an ECE centre twice a week (for him to interact with other children) so a car and current drivers licence would be a must. Family can provide a car seat if needed.
- Other than washing bottles and B5's clothes and dishes family do not require the nanny to conduct any other household chores. B5 has a younger brother named Charles (3 years old) who is primarily cared for by both his mother and extended family as well as time at ECE centre.
