An opportunity has arisen in the Komatsu Invercargill Service Department for the position of Service Supervisor. This position plays a very important part of the Branch's Service team and reports to the Branch Manager.
The objective of the role is to manage and control the delivery of customer support in the territory allocated to the Invercargill Branch and be responsible and accountable for the operation of the Service Department to ensure that it performs efficiently and effectively and achieves expected business outcomes.
**This position will be responsible for the following tasks**:
- Drive the development and expansion of the Service business in the territory allocated to the Branch in consultation with the Regional Manager.
- Responsible and accountable for the operation of the branch Service Department to ensure that it performs efficiently and effectively.
- Organise and control the workshop and field service operations of the Branch
- Management and development of all elements of the branch Service operations to achieve excellence in customer service and support (for both external and internal customers).
- Manage, monitor, and control Service WIP to achieve company set targets
- Develop and maintain thorough levels of communication throughout the branch as well as the rest of the company
- Proactive coaching, encouraging, and reinforcing of Service team so that they continuously strive towards and achieve high levels of teamwork, accountability, responsibility, and initiative.
- Actively demonstrate positive belief and attitudes to the principles of the Komatsu Way and promote similar attitudes amongst your staff.
**The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills**:
- Qualified Heavy Diesel Technician (Desirable)
- An understanding of heavy construction, forestry, quarrying equipment would be an advantage.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft suite of programs with AX being an advantage.
- A self-starter with accuracy and integrity in your work
- Ability to control expenditure and monitor income
- Previous experience in supervision of an OEM Service Dept would be an advantage.
- Ability to coach, encourage and discipline personnel to strive towards high levels of teamwork, accountability, responsibility, and initiative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detailed knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
