**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

The University of Auckland has an exciting opportunity for one part-time 0.6 FTE (Three days a week) 12-month fixed term social media and marketing coordinator to join the Faculty of Engineering.

The purpose of this role is managing and growing the faculty’s main social media channels to support strategic marketing goals and enhance the faculty’s reputation. This includes paid digital advertising, content creation independently and in collaboration with our student ambassadors to engage prospective and current students, showcasing the variety of engineering to the wider community via social media marketing and in line with the marketing strategy set for the faculty. This position will also support the administrative operational activities of the marketing team where required.

This role will work closely with the Communications and Marketing Manager, the Marketing Adviser, the Events Planner, the Graphic Designer, Content Writers and Coordinators, Casual Staff who are current students, external agencies and other internal academic stakeholders to plan and execute faculty marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

Along with this, key responsibilities of this role will be:

- Collaborate with the marketing advisor to develop, manage, and implement an annual social media content strategy to ensure that timely and engaging content is published to engage with key target audiences as per the faculty’s strategic goals.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for paid content amplification and plan and execute in-house paid social media activity when directed by the Communications and Marketing Manager.
- Day to day marketing support with event communications to relevant stakeholders, general administrative assistance for marketing related tasks as required and maintaining the social media marketing budget in collaboration with the marketing advisor.
- Analyse performance and report on effectiveness of social media activities across university channels including performance of each channel, content, and campaigns.
- Manage regular reviews of competitor social media activity and report on trends and new activities.
- Provide recommendations for social media campaign improvement, along with insights into new/alternative opportunities
- Implement the Faculty’s social media strategy to enhance and protect the faculty’s reputation and support strategic brand and recruitment objectives.
- Work with student content creators (as needed on a casual contract basis) to create, produce and curate content, including video content in line with campaigns and strategic goals, optimised for social media channels.

This is a part time, fixed term role for 12 months. The salary range is $64,600 - $79,800 per annum, prorated, depending on qualifications and experience.
