Alleyways City Cleaner

Napier City Council are looking for a Civic Cleaner to join our City Services Team. If you are passionate about maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of our city and take pride in your work and will enjoy contributing to the well-being of your community this is the role for you.

As an Alleyways City Cleaner you will maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness for alleyways, walkways and NCC bus stops in Napier. This role is full time role working 40 hours per week from Sunday to Thursday.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Remove all debris and rubbish from access ways, alleyways, steps and bus shelters
- Pull out, cut and remove all weeds and vegetation exceeding the tolerance of 100mm from the access ways, alleyways, steps and bus stops
- Refix any loose metal fencing sheets if possible
- Report and document all inspection sheets for the site going through the points that require inspection, vegetation, fences, tripping hazards, damage etc
- Clean down and wash bus stops as required
- If qualified - spraying may be involved
- Secondary schooling
- Full drivers licence
- Previous manual labouring work
- Have a knowledge of how to use and care for machinery and cleaning equipment
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Provides courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public and city services department
