The role

We are seeking an experienced Geodesist to undertake InSAR and geodetic data collection, analysis and modelling for a range of consultancy and research consultancy projects.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality consulting services for clients. You will be an experienced Geodesist and undertake InSAR analysis and modelling for a range of consultancy and research consultancy projects. You will also produce technical reports and publish scientific findings. Your expertise will support the development of innovative solutions and responses to natural hazard events, enhancing resilience and preparedness.

About you:

- Educational Expertise: A PhD in InSAR Geodesy preferably with hands-on experience working with persistent scatterer datasets.
- Analytical Acumen: Proven ability to interpret geodetic and related data to analyze Earth deformation processes effectively.
- Technical Proficiency:

- Advanced skills in Linux and geodetic dataset analysis and modeling software.
- Proficiency in Matlab and/or Python for data processing and analysis.
- Strong technical knowledge of InSAR processing workflows; experience with GAMMA and ISCE is highly desirable.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing high-quality reports and publications.
- Collaborative Spirit: A flexible and adaptable team player who thrives in dynamic environments.
- Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational capabilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Self-Motivation: A highly self-motivated and self-directed individual, capable of driving projects forward independently while maintaining alignment with team goals and objectives.

This is a full time (38 hours per week) permanent position located at our Avalon Office in Lower Hutt.
