**_About our team/Mō te tīma_**

The WellSleep Centre is a sleep investigation unit diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. As part of the University of Otago, Wellington (UOW), the WellSleep Centre provides specialised services to several hospitals and privately referred patients.

Our department conducts a broad spectrum of clinical diagnostic tests including both home and laboratory-based studies. We have a purpose-built sleep laboratory housed within Bowen Hospital as part of the University of Otago, Wellington Campus. WellSleep also has an active research programme.

**_The roles/Te mahi_**

We are looking for individuals who are able to fulfil both positions as 1 FTE: 0.5 FTE as Senior Clinical Physiologist, and 0.5 FTE as Post-Doctoral Fellow. You will need to meet the requirements for both roles to be successful.

**As Senior Clinical Physiologist**, you will be jointly responsible (alongside the Laboratory Manager) for the day-to-day technical operation of the laboratory.

Your accountabilities will include:

- Guidance and support to staff, including rostering to meet patient/staffing ratios
- Ensuring the supply of equipment and consumables
- Troubleshooting of the laboratory equipment
- Clinical data analysis

Essential:

- PhD or equivalent doctorate in appropriate field.
- Tertiary qualification in health science or similar which meets the registration criteria for Clinical Physiology.
- Experience in relevant research techniques and statistical analysis.
- Clinical sleep medicine or sleep technology experience.

Desired:

- Patient care experience, adult and paediatric.
- Respiratory ventilation experience.

This role is full time, 1 FTE (37.5 hours per week) that is split between two positions:
1. 0.5 FTE permanent Senior Clinical Physiologist position.
2. 0.5 FTE fixed term (3 years) Post-Doctoral Fellow position.
