**The opportunity**

From hazard mapping to managing asset data, regional planning to supporting in an emergency management response, our Geospatial Services team provide a critical service for Council, providing and continually developing accurate and comprehensive information, which enables informed decision-making and clear communication within our communities.

In this role you will:

- Provide technical support, mentorship and training to the team on geospatial software, web apps and services
- Administer Esri suite of software, ensuring it’s operated and maintained in line with best practice
- Make and maintain web maps and web apps
- Prepare and maintain field worker apps
- Spatial analysis including remote sensing, 3D and Lidar

The team operate a business partnering model, enabling you to hone your skills and add value supporting specific teams and services within Council.

**Skills & experience**
- Tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Planning, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar, or equivalent practical experience in GIS
- Strong understanding of GIS principles, methodologies and best practice
- Administration experience with Esri suite of software (ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, ArcGIS Online)
- Experience in the creation and management of geospatial data, web services and web apps
- Excellent relationship management and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) permanent position. There is the option for this role to be worked completely remotely anywhere within New Zealand.

**The salary range for this position is $79,000 - $88,000**
