**He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role**
Te Whatu Ora Bay of Plenty Palliative Care Service is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and hard-working Nurse Practitioner to join the team. We have a permanent role for an NP who is committed to delivering evidence based Palliative Care and advice to support patients and other health professionals. The role is based in Tauranga and on occasions working in our Whakatāne hospital to support our Eastern Bay population.
The Hospital Palliative Care Service is a consultative service providing symptom management advice and support to several health professional including doctors and nurses, to ensure patients and their families receive the most appropriate care while in hospital by working closely with the teams responsible for their care. The Palliative Care team also provide support to patients and families while in the hospital.
**He korero mōu - About You**
You will need experience in palliative care, sound clinical assessment skills and nursing knowledge and be able to communicate with a vast number of health professionals as well as provide support to patients and their families. As there will be times you will be working autonomously, confidence in your assessments and recommendations to hospital doctors, nurses and other members of the MDT is expected while developing good ongoing relationships.
This is a challenging role but one that provides many rewards as you advocate and facilitate the best palliative care for patients and their families in an acute setting.
