We're building a capability for the global Utility Markets to efficiently manage large volumes of data from yesterday and tomorrow's meters, integrating with other systems and providing value-added services for existing and future customers. To progress this goal **we will be building out an R&D engineering team based across our Melbourne and Auckland offices.** We are seeking a **Graduate** **Software Engineer** to join an existing scrum team. Our teams work closely with a Product Owner, Product Manager, and Engineering Lead to ensure we have a product mindset that delivers value continuously and sustainably. **You will be part of one such team which also has an established mentorship/buddy program** that helps empower new joiners to grow and sharpen their skills.

Gentrack is a 500 person, growing business, listed in the public markets of New Zealand and Australia. The main people centres are in London, Auckland, Melbourne and Pune.

**In this role you can expect to**:

- Be part of and actively contribute to a self-organising, cross-functional team
- Learn and develop an understanding of engineering principles, next-generation Cloud-native Platforms like AWS and languages such as C#, Typescript or Golang.
- Liaise with customers to understand & analyse their requirements and develop appropriate solutions
- Work with a variety of stakeholders including development teams, Product Owners and Managers, customers and Engineering Leads
- Take time for personal training and development

**What you need to be successful**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A good understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Some exposure to software testing (e.g. unit tests, integration tests, acceptance tests)
- Flexibility to shift focus to where the need is greatest
- Be open to accepting constructive feedback and have the resilience to keep learning and developing your software engineering practice
