**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
As the Facilities Manager you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective facilities management services for the Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre which includes:
- Oversee the day-to-day facilities management
- Managing the provision of facilities services, such as ‘drop-in’ client services centres, preventative and reactive building maintenance, security access, contractor management, building compliance
- Managing the MBIE Property team to ensure the quality and consistency of services, advice and procedures in relation to the team’s work
- Help coordinate the strategic and operational management of the buildings and facilities to ensure they are safe, healthy, sustainable, productive, and fit for purpose.
- Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
- Act as a key interface with, Immigration New Zealand, MBIE Property, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
The following qualifications may be required and maintained
- Site Safe Supervisor or Gold card
- Height Awareness
- Confined Space
- Elevated Work Platform
- Permit to Work (Issuer/Receiver)

- Intermediate or experienced Facilities Manager, Project Manager or Site manager delivering in facilities management.
- Able to project manage and manage several functions and projects simultaneously
- Develops and maintains strong relationships and multiple level networks and contacts across the organisation and with external partners
- Can-do attitude (‘goes the extra mile’) and a high level of initiative, sound judgement and discretion
- Well organised and able to prioritise effectively / good time management
- Adaptable and flexible working style; Capacity to multitask effectively and maintain calm to make decisions under pressure and respond effectively to situations involving stress or unusual circumstances
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to prioritise work to achieve MBIE outcomes.
- Strong background in Health & Safety
- Solid understanding of financial data and support recommendations with quantitative data
- Good understanding and skills in the use of facilities management/property software and systems
- Highly developed customer service skills and the ability to impart these to others
- Must have legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
- Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and previous experience managing Health and Safety within a facility
- Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) management
