The Opportunity:
The Cloud Engineer is a pivotal role in the Infrastructure Team to support, maintain and enhance Cloud operations, including:
- Work in alongside the infrastructure teams across NZ, AU and Group to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for AIA NZ-
- Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to design and development teams to build cloud competenciesManaging cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
About the role:
- Assist in the operational governance of the AIA multi-cloud environment (predominantly Azure but with an AliCloud and AWS footprint)- Develop in accordance with Group Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) processes and operation guides to ensure smooth transition to Cloud Operations- Liaise with service providers to ensure that operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) are delivered on time and to AIA standards- Improve operational efficiency via enhancements as required- Develop automation opportunities via the use of Infrastructure-As-Code tooling- Management and compliance of Public Cloud technologies to audit standards- Work with the Local and Group Technical Risk and CCoE to ensure compliance to all security requirements and standards- Provisioning and support of non-standard cloud services that might not be covered in AIA service provider contracts- Assist with the maintenance and security of each cloud platform- Reporting on the cloud environments as required- Script writing and development of configuration templates are required for cloud automation- Build a professional Public Cloud service focused on service optimisation
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or mathematics- 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on Azure and AWS platforms- Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected frameworks- Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics-
- ITIL Certification, or demonstrable experience within ITIL organisation
In addition to the above, you will be customer focused, have superior interpersonal skills and be self-motivated. This role will require you to be an expert in your field and to work with mínimal supervision. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with those you interact with and you will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
