**Sales Assistant (Casual) Te Papa Stores**

Te Papa stands proud as an iconic national building housing the treasures of our nation and is a vibrant destination for both national and international visitors.

We are now looking for retail stars to join our busy Te Papa Stores operation to work on a Casual, as-required basis. You will be working in one of our 2 retail stores within Te Papa at Cable Street and our store located at Wellington Airport. You will be a person who understands how retail supports our visitor experience by providing opportunities for our visitors to take home a memento of Te Papa or New Zealand or purchase a unique gift for someone special, and you enjoy interacting with customers to find out which product will best suit their needs.

**Ideally, you will have;**
- Previous experience in a retail environment, ideally from a tourist or gift shop background
- A passion for customer service and ensuring every interaction is professional, helpful and proactive
- A desire to learn about all of our products and their associated stories
- Flexible availability to work over a 7-day roster as we operate 364 days a year
- Applicants must be available to work casual shifts as rostered over the Monday to Sunday period weekly, with more than one available day per week, and availability on at least one weekend day is essential.
- Previous cashiering experience
- An understanding of Māori culture and Taonga will be advantageous

The hourly rate for this position will be $27.80ph as a minimum.
