**About the role**

As Contracts Manager, you’ll take the lead in managing and overseeing all transport-related contracts - from consultancy to physical works - ensuring performance aligns with contract expectations, standards, and safety requirements.

You will:

- Ensure our contractors and consultants are delivering work that meets contractual obligations and high-quality standards.
- Lead the procurement of new transport contracts in line with the Transport Procurement Strategy and Council procurement policies.
- Work closely with the Works Programme Manager to ensure planning and resources are aligned for success.
- Collaborate with the Roading and Drainage Engineer to maintain the quality, safety, and compliance of all physical works.

This is a fixed term role until October 2026.

We’re looking for a Contracts Manager to join our Transport Team - a vital role responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of transport-related contracts across our city.

We need someone with:

- A tertiary qualification in engineering, or similar experience
- Strong experience in contract and procurement management, ideally in transport or civil works.
- Excellent knowledge of procurement strategies and contract legislation.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across technical and operational teams.
- A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of accountability.
- A current full NZ driver license
