**Mō mātou | About us**
As a proudly kaupapa Māori tertiary educator, **‘tauira success’** is our mission and **‘whānau transformation through education’**is our vision, guiding our commitment to delivering quality education programmes underpinned by Māori culture and values.
**Mō tēnei mahi | About this job**
Are you someone who genuinely cares and wants to walk alongside others on their learning journey? We are looking for a **casual** (on-call) **Disability Support Worker**based in** Tauranga.**Hours are varied across academic semesters and may include after-hours or occasional weekend noho.
In this role, you’ll provide tailored learning support to our tauira (students) both in and out of the classroom - including during wānanga and noho marae.
Your mahi might involve notetaking or typing, helping tauira navigate course materials and online resources, breaking down academic tasks, and building their confidence with time management and independent planning. Most importantly, you’ll be there to encourage and uplift - supporting tauira to engage fully with their learning environment, kaiako, peers, and support services.
If meaningful mahi and making a difference in someone's learning journey sounds like you - we’d love to hear from you.
**Mōu | About you**
The ideal person for this role will be flexible, supportive, and confident working one-on-one with learners across a range of learning needs.
You will also bring with you:
- A tertiary qualification, preferably with a qualification above the level of tauira you are supporting
- A relevant Teacher Aide Certificate, desirable
- Previous Teaching Aide experience preferred
- Experience in a pastoral role, coaching, mentoring, support, or teaching advantageous but not essential
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
