Port Otago Group’s business comprises a regional container terminal, bulk port activities, cruise and property investment and development. We service South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, working with customers to streamline their supply chains. Our culture is hands-on, safety focused and encourages continuous improvement.
Reporting directly through to our GM Operations, we are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to lead the team and operations at our Dunedin Coldstore.
**So, what will I be doing?**
As Coldstore Manager, you will be:
- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of operational excellence, safety, and process improvements across the Coldstore operations.
- Leading and coaching supervisors and forklift operators to work safely and efficiently.
- Delivering safe and effective operations which meet customer expectations for best practice storage, receipt, and delivery of product.
- Juggling workforce allocation around customer requirements.
- The lead for Dunedin PCBU. This means you’re responsible (with support from our H&S Team) for ensuring all wharf users have constructive and safe work practices and that everyone is working safely together on the wharves.
**Key to your success will be**:
- Proven operational experience and ample leadership experience, gained via working in logistics and supply chain management.
- A true passion for Health & Safety - you will need to lead your team to ensure a high level of compliance and a positive H&S culture
- Prior experience successfully leading a diverse team, along with excellent communication and team building skills
- Your ability to remain calm under pressure, with strong organisation skills with the ability to multi-task, plan ahead and forecast
- Experience liaising with numerous stakeholders with excellent engagement skills and a collaborative style
- Comfortable with computers as you will need to use our various IT systems
Ultimately you will be someone who can stay ‘ahead of the game’ on service delivery and who instils a culture of continuous review and improvement across the team.
