We are looking for an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to provide
consultant services and corporative leadership for the cardiac medical team to
facilitate high quality care to patients.
The successful applicant will be required to provide diagnostic and treatment services
for patients in the central region. Their skill set is a well-established experienced in general cardiology
as well as interventional work.
The role holder will be expected to
encourage innovation and quality in the development of services and to provide
a strategic view of the direction for future service development. To this end,
they will be expected to undertake clinical audit and quality improvement
projects as well as clinical research. They will engage with other providers,
consumers, and health organisations to
improve the quality and responsiveness of services and should possess highly
developed relationship and communication skills, a sound understanding of
clinical governance and the ability to work within the multi-disciplinary
model.
Main focus of the role is on Coronary
intervention including the interventional treatment of stable coronary
artery disease and acute coronary syndromes and their complications. Experience in the treatment of structural heart disease is desirable but not mandatory for the role, including experience in obtaining and assessing associated cardiac imaging.

Cardiology service is jointly accredited as an SCT training facility with the
Hutt Valley Cardiology Service.
Moū ' About you
- Vocationally registered in Internal Medicine (Cardiology) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRACP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for with the MCNZ
- Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
- Participate in an on-call roster
