Pegasus Health supports many aspects of health and wellbeing in Canterbury. We provide services and support to general practices and community-based health providers to deliver quality health care to patients.

**Ko **t**ā**u **ake** mahi**:What you will **be **doing**

The overarching aim of the Māori Hauora Manager role is to improve health outcomes for Māori by ensuring equity of access to health services. The role contributes to a Canterbury wide view of Māori Health in community and primary health. The role links with a range of Māori and other community providers as part of developing strategy and delivering services.

Responsibilities include:

- Strategic leadership of Māori Health leading and driving best practice in Māori health approaches to improve health outcomes for whānau Māori
- Leading cultural competency development o fthe health workforce
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with the Māori community, Māori providers and other service providers

This is a permanent full-time role based in Ōtautahi.

- active participation in Māori communities and Māori kaupapa
- ability to initiate, build and maintain positive and constructive relationships
- good communication, facilitation and teaching skills
- a strong understanding of policies and systems and how they impact health equity
