Gisborne Hospital is a rural hospital with a community of approximately 50,000 people and is geographically isolated on the east coast of the North Island.
Gisborne Hospital is RACS accredited for vocational training in General Surgery and you will be supported in your role by a General Surgical SET Registrar and 4 House Officers.
The Department of General Surgery in Gisborne provides general surgical care in the widest sense: from elective sub-specialist procedures to the acute management of Plastic Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Neurosurgery, ICU, Trauma and ENT patients, with support from Waikato Hospital.
Our focus is on your development and learning, expanding your knowledge and advancing your skills. Clinically, you will work closely with our General Surgeons and we have a structured departmental registrar educational program with rostered non-clinical time each week for educational activity.
**Requirements**:
- Be PGY3 or above
- Up-to-date CV and the
- 3 x references (one must be from your most recent supervisor).
