**Te wero - The Challenge**
Are you passionate about engaging with communities to identify, and provide direction for, long term growth and place-based community outcomes? Have you got experience in developing place-based plans such as district wide spatial plans or community level master plans, and can you bring a best-practice approach to the process and methodologies for preparing and embedding these plans in Council plans and processes for implementation?
We have an awesome opportunity within our Growth Planning and Placemaking team for someone who has these skills and who can bring their experience to lead the development of necessary place-based plans, including identifying place-based long term community outcomes, growth requirements, future planning scenarios and infrastructure requirements to inform our place-based plans and to inform our development contributions policy.
This is a newly established team where you will work with future focussed, pro-active colleagues.
**I ā koe - About You**
- Experienced in best-practice process and methodology for the development, implementation, and maintenance of district wide and community level spatial plans, masterplans, placemaking plans and other plans as required.
- Experienced in collaborating across an organisation and with external stakeholders, facilitating internal and external meetings, workshops, or working groups as required to build trusted relationships with mana whenua and key stakeholders.
- Experienced in the development of planning scenarios and infrastructure servicing optioneering at district and community level, supporting assessment of demand, supply, constraints and enabling factors for medium
- and long-term business and housing land in the district (urban and rural) to inform development of a schedule of rates for development contributions that set out the provision of future infrastructure (including upgrading or retiring) to meet growth across the Far North District.
- Comfortable assimilating a wide range of complex data and presenting this simply and clearly to a variety of audiences, using suitable presentation methods, these could include ESRI GIS, story board, and Microsoft office software.

- The salary for this position is Grade 18 within Council's salary structure (Band: $96,643 - $113,697 per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
