MidCentral has a vacancy for a physiotherapy assistant to join the Physiotherapy Department in Palmerston North.

This person will be required to work under the direction of registered physiotherapists providing clinical support and assistance to the physiotherapy team in the community and for the inpatient teams when and as required.

The tasks of this position are many and varied and include undertaking physiotherapy interventions with clients under direction of a physiotherapist. Experience as an allied health assistant, knowledge of physiotherapy and equipment would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be someone who has effective oral and interpersonal communication skills, is able to work under pressure and direction, and enjoys meeting the challenges of a varied workload. A willingness to learn and complete ongoing training is necessary. You will need to be aware of principles around person centred practice, be sensitive to cultural differences and committed to the Treaty of Waitangi.

This is a permanent 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A current NZ drivers' licence is essential.
