**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Campus Support personal on a permanent, full-time basis.

Our Campus Support personal specialize in ensuring the smooth operation of university campuses through a comprehensive range of tailored services. From setting up rooms for events to distributing essentials and promptly reporting maintenance issues, we guarantee seamless campus facilities. With a focus on safety and security, we provide escorted guidance, and assist in emergency responses, including fire evacuations.

Additionally, our administrative excellence ensures efficient mailroom operations, detailed reporting, and adherence to university policies and compliance requirements.

**Key responsibilities**

Campus support services coordination

To provide a range of Campus support services to the University community that ensures the smooth running of the campuses:

- Manages access to buildings (opening and closing doors).
- Performing building checks, such as ensuring that all access and emergency routes are clear of any obstructions, including rubbish and furniture.
- Sets up rooms for teaching or events.
- Assists with office relocations.
- Distributes milk, furniture, and other items as required.
- Notifies maintenance requirements and faults as appropriate.

To provide a range of services that support the safety and security of people on the University campuses:

- Escorts visitors, staff and students during business hours and after hours as required.
- Supports the Security with emergency response.
- Assists with fire evacuations of university buildings (drills and actual events).
- A manual driver’s license is essential for these responsibilities.

Administrative and Operational Support for Campus Services

To provide operational and other administrative duties required for the smooth operation of Campus support.
- Provides written reports on activities and incidents as required.
- Develops a sense of ownership for the physical environment of the campus e.g., switch off unused lighting, report maintenance items, pick up rubbish where the opportunity presents.
- Ensures a focus on quality in the design and delivery of services.
- Ensures communication to the Community is always clear and respectful.
- To undertake mailroom duties on a rostered basis, sorting and dispatching in-coming and outgoing mail and courier items.

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensures the compliance with the University’s policies, procedures, and reporting obligations in particular those relating to health and safety and risk management.
- Takes responsibility for compliance with Health and Safety, risk and emergency management and quality assurance obligations, and particularly compliant with University’s policies on hazard identification, reporting and remediating, near-miss and actual incident reporting, and the enhancement of wellbeing.
- Demonstrates actions in an emergency that are specific to the workplace and are designed to keep the individual safe.

**Ō pūmanawa - About you**
- A clean Full Driver's License (manual).
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience working in teams.
- Good customer service abilities.
- Physical fitness.
- Ideally, previous campus support experience, along with First Aid Level 1 certification.
