Based at Tryphena, Great Barrier Island, an exciting part-time opportunity for a motivated and experienced Wharfinger has arisen. Reporting to the Maritime Operations Manager, this role will see you responsible for supporting the crew on the vessels on arrivals and departures with handling of vessel lines.

Thisis a permanent, part-time position where shifts will vary throughout the year. Winter will see you working Sunday and Public holidays, Summer 3-4 days per week and during peak holiday times 6 days per week.

To be successful in this role you will be able to:

- Demonstrate a positive influence at all times
- Available to support crew to ensure departure on time
- Use effective and clear communication to the Master/Crew when on duty
- Report any incidents to Manager
- Demonstrate using initiative and be proactive for business enhancement/product
- Actively participate to promote and build a culture of health and safety in the workplace, and noting the Health & Safety responsibilities outlined below.
- Support all workers to act in full compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and ensure that your actions dont cause harm to you or others.
- Comply with any reasonable instructions, policies or procedures on how to work in a safe and healthy way.
- Report any health and safety hazards to a health and safety committee representative or your manager, and, if possible, take immediate action to minimise harm. Ensure all hazards and incidents are reported using corporate reporting tools.
