**Job Description - Support Worker**

**Job Purpose**

To perform tasks to ensure that the needs of the client assigned in the care plan are met in full to a high standard whilst upholding Ali’s Home Healthcare’s 5 core values and the ethos of “Enabling Good Lives”.

Homecare Management Team

**Hours**

To be agreed with the Homecare Management Team - we are available for our clients 7 days per week and 24hours per day
- Please refer to scheduled hours_

**Location**

14a Settlers Crescent, Ferrymead

**Annual Leave**

Four weeks per year, after year of service

**Strategic Requirements **of the Position**

**At all times**:

- To ensures that the needs of the client assigned in the care plan are met in full
- To feed back to the Director any concerns regarding the clients situation or the suitability of the services to be provided as assigned in the care plan.
- To act in a professional manner
- To act in a culturally safe and appropriate manner at all times.
- To ensure the skills needed for a particular task are known.
- To observe the current Quality Procedures of Ali's Home Healthcare and any new procedures that may be distributed from time to time.

**Specific Duties**

**These are a number of the tasks that may need to be carried out by the Support Worker.**

**The CLIENT Care Plan will detail the actual work needed for each client, they are to be closely adhered to.**

**Should you be asked to carry out additional tasks advise the client you will need to get approval from the office and to please contact the office.**

**Personal Care** - May include
- Check environment for applicable hazards

Meal preparation
- Personal grooming
- Shaving
- Wash/dry hair
- Clean teeth/dentures
- Spectacles
- Dress/undress
Personal Hygiene
- Toilet, Commodes, bedpans
- Shower/bath
- Doctor/specialist visits
- Dental visits
- Physiotherapist visits
- Transport rate to be negotiated with client separately
- Sleep overs (8hrs duration)
- Feeding the patient if required
- Day/night sitter
- Exercises

**Domestic Assistance (Home Help)** - May include
- Shopping (Transportation rate to be negotiated with client separately)

**Kitchen**
- Washing dishes
- Wiping down bench top, stove top, refrigerator, microwave
- Sweeping and mopping floors
**Bathroom**
- Clean bath/shower/hand basin
- Clean toilet
- Sweep and mop floors
**Bedroom(s)**
- Make bed
- Tidy room
- Vacuum floor
- Dust

**Lounge**
- Vacuum floor
- Dust room
- Clean skirting boards

**Dining room**
- Vacuum floor
- Dust room
**Laundry**
- Wash and change linen weekly
- Washing to be hung out if ready
- Washing to be brought in and folded when needed
- Ironing to be done

**General**
- Clean internal windows
- Clean kitchen stove

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Flexible hours
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
Community Support Workers are issued with full PPE as per the MOH guidelines.
