This exciting opportunity is a new working collaboration between ATWC and Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri Trust.

The Anglican Trust for Women & Children (ATWC) is a multi-disciplinary Social Services organisation based in Otahuhu, with over a hundred and sixty years of service to families in our community. Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri Trust was established in 1992 in response to the need for a kaupapa Māori social service organisation that could support whānau struggling with urban living and consequent adversity. The Trust was established by the Te Haahi Mihinare (Māori Anglican Church). Our offices are based in Manukau and Kaitaia.

As a kaupapa Māori social service provider, Te Whare has developed an indigenous social services practice model ‘te kawa o te marae’ to embed tikanga Māori as a pathway for whānau to achieve wellbeing.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Kia Ora Ake is a locally co-designed tamariki hinengaro (mental wellbeing) approach for Counties Manukau, an integral part of the national Mana Ake programme. Kia Ora Ake is a school-based holistic wellbeing initiative aimed at supporting primary and intermediate school-aged tamariki, their whānau, and schools.

The Kia Ora Ake Kaimanaaki is a non-clinical role that will work closely with clinical workers establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with primary schools and school communities, being a key contact for those kura/schools, and partnering to assess and respond to tamariki and whānau hinengaro wellbeing needs. This can be through supporting the introduction of whole of school programmes, group or classroom level programmes, or individual work with tamariki and their whānau.

Covering kura/schools based in the Franklin area the role will be based out of Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri Trust Manukau offices.

We are looking for energetic and resilient team players who are passionate about the wellbeing of tamariki and whānau hinengaro wellbeing.

Desired attributes:

- Level 4 or higher NZQA recognised qualification in health, social or education
- Experience working with tamariki and whānau
- Willingness to receive initial and ongoing training and learning in hinengaro wellbeing.
- A knowledge of, or keen desire to learn about the community
- Experience in a school environment
