CAIQTEST (Pacific) is a startup testing company, based on the Ruakura Research Centre
campus in Hamilton. It has a unique set of shareholders, notably including CAIQTEST in China
(one of the key government-owned official testing laboratories in China) and Analytica
Laboratories in New Zealand. The purpose of the laboratory is to facilitate smoother export
of goods from NZ, Australia, and the Pacific to China by providing test certificates prior to
shipment that will be accepted by CIQ customs officials at the border and will also meet MPI
requirements in NZ for goods being exported. This will allow the vast majority of goods to
progress directly into China, without requiring further testing (and associated delays at the
border while the testing is undertaken).
