Altura Cafe team based in Albany, Auckland is currently looking for a Chef assistant to assist our busy back of house.

We guarantee a minimum 30 hours to 40 hours a week,

Your responsibilities:

- Retrieving ingredients from storage areas as requested according to the orders received from front of house.
- Assisting kitchen staff with food preparation, ingredient processing, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables.
- Put and remove food on stove and in oven when requested by cooks.
- Assisting Cooks with food preparation and decoration.
- Unloading of delivered supplies.
- Organising the ingredient in fridges on the correct shelves
- Informing team if ingredients and spices are running low.
- Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
- Cleaning kitchen and appliances.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen benchtop, food preparation areas and walls.
- Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor, always ensuring the kitchen is clean, tidy and adhere with health and safety procedure.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to work swiftly at a hot, noisy and fast-paced kitchen
- Good time management
- Great interest in Hospitality
- Good personal hygiene and physical healthy
- Able to work as part of a team
