Cater Plus is proud to be the new Food Service provider a Retirement Village, located in Point Chevalier Auckland.

The role

In this role you will:

- Be responsible for driving day-to-day operations of a central production kitchen, on-site café and delivery of meals to 3 separate locations on site, catering to a total of 230 resident and 327 independent living residents.
- Be actively involved in overseeing and aspects of menu creation, meal production, and presentation of food and delivery of functions and events, whilst catering to the special dietary needs of your clientele.
- Ensure full staff coverage over a 7-day roster including daytime and evening shifts.
- Manage food and labour costs within an agreed budget.
- Oversee New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations within your sites.
- Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and the wider business to implement development strategies and foster an engaged workforce.
- Manage and support the catering for functions and events.

This is a multifaceted role which requires someone who can think on their feet, be adaptive and who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We need someone who has strong staff management and recruitment skills, whilst being commercially and financially savvy and has a strong customer-centric focus, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Being an experienced chef is a prerequisite for this role. You will need to be supportive of your teams, understand the business challenges, be able to quickly resolve issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and be prepared to get in and roll up your sleeves when necessary.

Most importantly we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, self-managed and energetic to fit our culture.

Ordinarily working Monday to Friday, some flexibility will be required to ensure coverage over the 7-day roster.
