CAF North, a Child, Adolescent & Family community based Mental Health Service, is a specialist mental health team that provides assessment and treatment of young people from 5 to 18 years of age who present with moderate to severe mental health problems. The service works very closely with their families/whanau, and covers Christchurch Rangiora and Kaikoura.
At CAF North, we are strong on supporting our staff to develop the skills necessary to work effectively in this demanding area of healthcare. The service is after a Community Mental Health Nurse to play a key role in our team.

In

**this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Case management with assessment, formulation and

treatment
- Early intervention, brief intervention, and the
opportunity to make a real difference
- Adhering to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the
Treaty of Waitangi
- Working collaboratively with external agencies,
striving for better health outcomes in our community
- Duty work - including responding to crisis/emergency
presentations, assessing and developing risk management plans
- Hours of work - Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 5pm.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Ideal

**applicants will**:

- Have a minimum of three years - experience working in

Specialist Mental Health Services as a registered nurse
- Hold registration with the Nursing Council of New
Zealand, with mental health scope and current APC
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the
ability to connect with a wide range of people
- Be able to balance well working autonomously managing a
caseload in the community, with being a core part of a multidisciplinary
team
- Able to effectively prioritise tasks and work well
under pressureAs
travel is required, a full NZ driver - s license is essential.
