We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children's Hospital, located in central Auckland.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has come up to work in our specialised Child and Family Unit. The Child and Family unit (CFU) is a 18-bed child and adolescent mental health inpatient unit working with young people from 0-18 years and their families. We are one of only three specialist inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service units in the country serving a very large region with strong commitment to collaboration between young person, family, staff, and other services. We also have a newly opened 3-bed Mother and Baby Unit, which is the second only in New Zealand. The unit is situated on the 1st Floor of Starship Children's Health, which is part of Auckland City Hospital.
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
You will be a Registered Comprehensive (with PG Cert in MH) or Psychiatric Nurse with previous experience in an inpatient unit and a current APC.
As a key member of this professional, dedicated team, you'll be assessing and managing the needs of Service Users that are referred to the service with an acute mental health presentation and increased risk. Being a confident communicator and decision maker with strong nursing competencies are imperative.
This is a Permanent, full time role based at Starship Children's Hospital.
