Technical Writer

The Technical Writer is responsible for producing and continually improving knowledge base content for MRI Software. You will work in an agile environment to coordinate and deliver content changes that align with product release cycles. You’ll engage with key people and teams to produce content that is accurate and simple to understand. This will involve coordinating content releases, researching and analysing product changes, and writing high-quality material in alignment with style and brand guidelines.
- This role requires someone comfortable collaborating in a global virtual team. You will have an eye for detail but can still see the bigger picture. You will be flexible, proactive and a great communicator.
- Responsibilities
- Research and write knowledge base content for MRI Software products. This includes producing task-based content to help people answer their questions and help build on their product knowledge.
- Manage the end-to-end content process for each product release. Planning, writing and publishing content, including release notes and any in-app content.
- Build positive working relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Ensuring plain language and consistency with knowledge base standards and guidelines.
- Review and improve existing content whenever the opportunity arises, such as releasing new features, when processes change, or because of client feedback.
- Monitor support cases and user feedback so content is consistently maintained.
- Collaborate with the Education Team on the content strategy and style guide for knowledge base and training content.
- Report on the performance of the content, including measuring views, users, bounce rates and search terms to gauge any trends or potential improvements.
- Key skills and experience
- 3 years of experience developing technical content or training at a SaaS company.
- Strong plain language skills, with the ability to turn highly technical information into clear, concise, and focused knowledge base articles.
- Experience using a CMS, including Elevio, Zendesk or similar.
- Familiarity with software development in an Agile environment.
- Web-based development tools, including Jira, Confluence, HTML and image editing.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a virtual team.
