Part Time Assistant Accountant

Our client is a dynamic and global company in the manufacturing sector, who have a local focus and provides tailor-made, innovative solutions. Based in Penrose, they pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and providing exceptional service to our clients. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role is 30 hrs per week acorss Monday to Thursday.
**About the role - Atu mo te mahi**
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business by managing various aspects of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), credit control, and foreign exchange activities. Your exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, intermediate Excel knowledge, and proficiency in SAP will contribute to the smooth and efficient functioning of our finance operations.
**Key tasks and accountabilities**:
- Weekly payroll processing/ Finalising and reviewing timesheets
- Accurate processing of payroll related tasks (ie: invoicing)
- Ensure all invoices are paid correctly and on time
- Weekly AR/Debtor follow ups & reporting & administration
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting (month end, client reporting, etc)
- Resolve discrepancies and recalculations
- Daily receipting of payments
- Processing both Local and Intercompany Supplier invoices
- Reconciling supplier statements both Local and Intercompany
- Prepare Reuters FX rates Daily
- Fast and accurate processing/data entry
- Ad hoc administrative duties
- Build and maintain positive, effective relationships with all internal stakeholders
**About you - Pehea koe**
- 2+ years’ proven experience in an accounting
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles
- Strong working knowledge/understanding of SAP
- Understands Foreign Exchange Rates and calculations
- Methodical worker and calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail/ computer literacy and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and to meet time critical deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
- Ability to work co-operatively and effectively as part of a team/autonomously
- Intermediate excel skills (excel testing may be required)
- Strong attention to detail/computer literacy and accuracy
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Experience within the manufacturing/industrial sector would be advantageous
